Well, 6 years later, the right channel suddenly up and died. I put them away, very loosely coiling them up like I always do, and when I took them out, the right was dead. No amount of cable fiddling could get signal from the right side again. A real shame, as I loved these earphones. Oh well.
 
Here's what I loved about these that I would seek in a replacement:
1. neutral presentation
2. excellent isolation
 
Here's what I always wished was a little better:
1. wider soundstage
 
What recommendations might you all have? I'd go for a similar budget to replace them: $200ish.

Etymotic HF5, ER4P/S, RE600, UM3x are quite good for isolating well and sound even better.

Great, thanks for the tips. Top of my list now is Vsonic GR07 but I'll compare those too.
