HiFiMan ISVARNA Closed Back Hybrid

I did try them briefly … I did not get enough head time to say much more than this: they’re DEFINITELY a pair I want to hear more, and probably, to buy, but I’m not going to be an early adopter — I know even their very successful models invariably take steep price drops over time, witness the Arya Stealth.

Also, I just bought an Audivina and a Liric so I have to pause for a bit 😂

It definitely sounds nothing like any of the HiFiMAN closed backs I’ve ever heard before (Sundara Closed, Audivina, HE-R7DX, HE-R9, HE-10RP Stealth), and I remember definitely being wowed by the bass — but I didn’t have a chance to listen to my music with it as I was using their tablet on that go around before coming back to their exhibit and recognizing I should use my own iPhone and CMA18 portable DAC/amp, so I wasn’t able to properly get the sense I needed to with my music, on the Isvarna — it was quite popular and often in use.

But I definitely plan to hear it again — and I suspect to buy one eventually, but only once it’s not the full beginning MSRP. 😅

Is the sound leak out much like the audivina? I want to buy closedback headphone and this look very interesting, but audivina sound leak very much

It was a noisy space so I’m not sure… I own the Audivina so I know what you mean about those … but if I had to guess, I wouldn’t bank on the Isvarna’s being non-leaky.. Those large black accents on the bottom sure looked like large vented areas to me in person, although I admit that’s from memory.

This is a better picture… I felt more awkward taking a selfie than taking one of my friend Helden wearing them. 😂

I think they look pretty good. They're probably comfortable with that suspension strap and the hybrid pads too.

Yeah, I feel bad for the people who paid full price for the Arya Stealth. Last time I checked Hifiman was selling them for $500. They only came out a couple of years ago. . . .

*raises hand* I was one of them. Before the Stealth we hadn't really seen anything like that, except with some of their unsuccessful closed-backs. The Arya 2 held its price for years, so there was no way for early adopters like me to assume I was throwing away an extra $1,000 for no good reason.

Hallo!
If possible, briefly describe their sound (what you liked and what you didn't like).
Thank you!
Ooof, well, unfortunately I had little head time with them and didn’t get a chance to go back and listen with my own source so I could listen to my own music — the only thing I remember is IMMEDIATELY hearing substantial weight to the BASS — it was unlike any closed HiFiMAN I’ve ever heard, and I own the Sundara Closed Back and Audivina, and also the HE-R9, which does have some heft in the low end but these had better textured bass.

This is beautiful but even if I try it and like it I will wait because Hifiman closed backs do not hold value. I got burned on the R10P.
Hifiman has lost a lot of trust when it comes to their pricing.

R10P has a hefty and impactful bass!
