Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Mine Doesn't... I'm wondering if "smy1", can comfirm his cable having "V2" on it. Because if it does, this set is going back.

That was my thought 1000%. Mine does not say anything V2 anywhere on the set, but I did receive it in a baggy that did say V2. That was the ONLY indication outside of my emails with HIFIMAN.

I got my re600s yesterday and it seems like they changed to straight jack instead of the elbow jack. They sound kinda different these seems brighter much more cleaner then the original re600

From my understanding, The "re500s" always had a straight jack and the "re600" has the angled "elbow" jack. The "elbow" jack, being the balanced cable.

True, Mine also came in a baggy. I can't say if mine had the V2 on the bag though. I'm just going by the emails from hifiman, as well.

The RE-600S is a straight jack and always has been V1 and as is the V2. There is nothing on the RE-600S stating that it's a 2nd generation. Can you please post a pic of your RE-600S where it shows this?

I'll probably just end up buying them from Hifiman directly this way I can ensure I received the V2.
On another note, are these balanced or come with the adapter so it can be? and is it balanced like A&K 2.5mm?

I had some discussion with HifiMan and it's best to purchase directly from them to get the RE600S v2.  There's still a lot of old stock RE600S being sold even from authorized sources and one can never really tell which one with generic descriptions and stock generic pictures.  The RE600S are not balanced, just single ended.  They didn't have a concrete answer on whether the improved cable will be implemented with the balanced (3.5mm TRRS) RE600.

Ah ok. I don't think they labeled the new version with any imprints on the headphones denoting they are V2. Only the packaging sticker they came in clarifies they are.

mine said re600s on my headphone slider.

Right and so did the V1. The discussion is that it was stated that V2 is labeled on the revised version, but it's not.

Might have to contact hifiman I am sure they have some differences.
