Hifiman HE6-SE

Had contact with customer support and they asked me if I have it near a strong magnetic force. Unless the Audio-GD M19 is a strong magnetic force my answer should be no.
I need to send it back to their Polish warehouse and will get a new one in return. The warranty is extended by 3 months. This is proper customer support.
Too bad I have to send it back yet again.
The FedEx wait game has begun. New pair en route and shod be arriving early next week.

btw the cables do not come packed, nor is the hifiman case 'sealed' but the transport box (the brown one) should be.
I did have a cover over the cable compartment with the text "lift for cable" or something like that.
I hope you figure out what to do with your HE6SE!

Thanks, all seals were broken. The Chinese outer box Insurance seal was cut and taped over. Both seals on the inner Hifiman box were cut.

I hope you figure out what to do with your HE6SE!

Thanks, the return was accepted but now there is some monkey business going on. I'll open a dispute and he'll lose, I see some violations of ebay terms of service in this transaction. Big waste of time but at least I expect to get my money back sooner or later.

Well that's something. Will you pursue another HE6SE?

What a headache! But, as sketch as ebay (or aliexpress for that matter...) can be sometimes, I have always got my money back when something went wrong, so I have no doubt that you will be taken care of. But the biggest bummer, IMO is your ears being denied those sweet-sounding cans! :triportsad:

Yeah, it's just that everything is harder in Europe. It took like two weeks to get here and the money was tied up all that time. I hope it will be resolved in a few days.

I recommend the Dekoni velour ear pads if you’re looking to tweak your HE6V2. It can make all the difference depending on your audio chain and preferences! Thought I’d share as I’m quite pleased with the results for my setup.

Has anybody ever tried gluing one of the Hifiman mounting rings onto another, creating a uniform air gap around the pad? Maybe I'll order some rings from AliExpress and fart around with it. I have no idea how to 3D print, that would have been fun.

Good idea! Post the results please, might look nicer than my solution.

My DIY solution worked great.

I tried the Audeze ear pads that I had spare. They have a felt layer creating a little air gap around the pads:

The FedEx wait game has begun. New pair en route and shod be arriving early next week.
New pair is in!
- carton transport box is sealed
- bubble wrap around display case is sealed
- no signs of membranes sticking to magnets

Contemplating if I will ever try such a thing as the bass-port mod or stick to 'open' pads like fenestrated ones...
