I notice they are hybrid pads with leather surrounds and velour part touching your head however, compared to the HE4xx pads, they are much, much softer. It feels like the HE4xx stock pads are harder and denser while the HE400se pads are softer and feel like a cheaper foam.

Just an update of my He4xx vs He400SE impressions. I'm not sure what I prefer. If I could, I would take the characteristics of both to make a super pair of cans.

Orginally I thought the 4xx had more bass, but I ran a freq sweep off Youtube from 0-100hz. Now IMHO, I believe the 4xx does extend a bit more, but where the He00SE does have bass, it seems cleaner. Some people might like the slightly distorted 4xx bass, it makes it sound like its more.

He4xx advantages: flatter response, less treble, better build quality, bass extends deeper, better pads

He400SE advantages: bigger soundstage, less distorted bass

I'd love a pair with the 4xx response and build quality and add on the cleaner bass and bigger soundstage of the He400SE

Mine came after about a month (taobao + yoybuy). Excellent sound for this price, high comfort (but the headband may hurt for the first few hours). Dynamic bass, huge stage, very selective detailed sound, at the same time smooth and delicate.
I have a 2x125mW / 32Ohm amplifier, it is enough, I use about 45-65% of the scale
For me, better than HE300, HD600, K712 and similar in price

I opened mine, it's dark matte grey and rough in texture unlike neodymium. I think it's ferrite. Tried taking a pic and it does look a bit silverish.

It is Ferrite for sure. I took a photo of mine.

I couldn't confirm if it is single ou double magnets, but for sure they are made of ferrite.

But one thing that caught my attention is the diaphragm. Those looks like sundara's diaphragms, they seems to be the same. Looking on HFM chinese website, even the ads for the drivers are the same:

Can anyone confirm that?

I've just got mine Hifiman HE400SE International Version which using Stealth Magnets Technology difference with those selling in China. But the cable is different, not sure its bad or what, but the SQ quality of this headphones is good, the details and separations. Well, this is my 1st planar headphone, currently had experience using Aiaiai TM and Capital which already broken, now using 1more Triple Driver Headphones and with ZT AS10. But this headphone is quite enjoyable and relax hearing.

Does this mean a fuzzor mod would bring no benefit? (outlining the magnets with felt)

Not sure what is fuzzor mod means, but I'm using 400se with Zen DAC. It's more enjoyable to hear my Dave Matthew Bands songs compare to other headphones/IEM I currently have. The instruments sound are not overpowering each other and very clear.

Having owned it several months, my appreciation grew more each day. It came pretty close to diminishing return for me. But i do keen on the new international version. Anybody compared them yet?
I'd be interested as well.

Looking at the photos and diagram, it just looks like it uses half circle magnets instead of regular rectangular bars with the rounded part facing out

Not sure how's that's stealth in any way shape or form. How would they even affect the sound?
