Yep, the HEKse can sometimes feel like some vocals, in some recordings can sound a little bit ethereal, since I'm not so much of a mid-range and particularly vocals focus in my sonic preferences, I don't mind it that much as long as I can hear clearly the vocalist. What I cannot tolerate is when vocals and the mid range is brought forward a lot and shoutyness and I feel that the vocalist is right in front of my face, one of the main reasons I can only listen to the focal azurys and the LCD-X 2021 with EQ is because of this, really sensitive to that area and I have really low tolerance for this kind of imbalance in the sound signature of any headphone, even if it's not that big or pronounce. It’s not as distant and more focused.

If it happens on some recordings and not others, it is not really headphones related dont you think?
Perhaps we can share some songs where it is obvious to check our feelings

Btw, tomorrow I will loan the unveiled but it will arrive next week.
It is headphone related because I can clearly hear the difference in vocal presentation between my HEKse and my LCD-X for example. With the HEKse I sometimes have to bring the mids up, with the other one I have to bring the mids down with their respective EQ profiles. If it happens on some recordings and not others, it is not really headphones related dont you think?

I have exactly the same issue with my Focal Elegias. Without EQ, they are awful - on many tracks, vocals are way up in your face to the point of them being unlistenable. But if I dial 2khz way down and 750hz down a bit and add a touch of bass, they are awesome cans, ESPECIALLY for the $330 AUD (new) I paid for them.It is headphone related because I can clearly hear the difference in vocal presentation between my HEKse and my LCD-X for example. Sounds like you're describing sound of the HE1000v2 - at least to my ears in my chain. The HEKu has a fuller mids, less to no sibilance and a smoother highs that still maintains good details.
I didn’t really hear them v2 before. Just stealth, se and the original (real long ago). I couldn’t quite get pass the sibilance enough to buy them previously .Sounds like you're describing sound of the HE1000v2 - at least to my ears in my chain.
But he1000 stealth/se have better speed, detail, bass slam than He1000v2. And i think HekU tooSounds like you're describing sound of the HE1000v2 - at least to my ears in my chain.
Yes - I was just referring to " fuller mids, less to no sibilance and a smoother highs that still maintains good details" regarding the v2, nothing else. I own both, the V2 and SE and enjoy both very much. But he1000 stealth/se have better speed, detail, bass slam than He1000v2. And i think HekU too
Haha now you can sell both and just use only HekUYes - I was just referring to " fuller mids, less to no sibilance and a smoother highs that still maintains good details" regarding the v2, nothing else. I own both, the V2 and SE and enjoy both very much.

I'd have to demo the U in home for an extensive time before even considering letting go of either.Haha now you can sell both and just use only HekU![]()

I like the tuning very much compared to the HEKse. There's a even more rumble in the sub-bass and not as much punch in the mid-bass, just the way I like it. The mids are less recessed in the 1.5-2k Hz range, and the upper mids/treble around 6-7k Hz are calmer. Nice.

I had the occasion to try them, confronting them with a pair of HEK Stealth and Arya Organic and I have to say they sounded amazing. The timbre was practically perfect to my hears, they had by far the best mid-range, detail and imaging. I've absolutely got to confront them with the Susvaras as soon as I have the occasion. I am frankly very tempted by them, despite being worried about the unveiled concept.
I would be curious to listen to the HE1000U but I bought the HE1000 Sealth to replace my Focal Clear, with my SPL Phonitor E, I find the HFM well balanced, the listening is not in V, it is dynamic, the high is detailed but not aggressive, The image is sublime with a beautiful separation of sounds, the Clear does not miss me...
