First the build quality is really top notch , sound wise it have better extension in both end , clean bass , mids are perfect and meaty , dynamics and imaging have weight and really enjoyable , all that is compared to the stock cable.

The only other cable i tried is WyWires Red and it was meh.

Gotta admit I would stick to the Norne cables at that price.

Ouch , for the price or the sound quality ?

Just the price I think is too high.. :p

I wonder what you think about SR1A. Is it that good at the expense of portability?

Sound is quite good but sometimes I miss the feel of 'real' headphones w/ cups/pads.

The right channel is dead on my SE. Dubbelchecked with two different cables. I got mine as part of the upgrade program in november. Somebody else who had issues and sent in the SE for repair?

Not with the SE ,but my HEKV2 stopped working on one channel after a month .
I was luckily still in Asia to get a new set within three weeks .And the dealer where I bought my HEKV2 was kind enough to lend me their upgraded from HEKV1 to V2 demo unit while I was waiting for my replacement set.
Quite an interesting comparison SQ wise actually.
The new HEKV2 is better sounding than the upgraded one was imho
They also very kindly lent me their demo HMS while waiting for my black preference over silver.
Two months!
.
Seeing that you have bought your HEKSE via an upgrade program/deal, did they upgrade your HEKV2 set to SE or is it a replacement deal?
And if so what was the cost involved?
PS Nice photo in your signature Yellowblue. Are you the photographer?
Cheers CC

It was the replacement deal offered by Hifiman here at head-fi last year. The SE replaced my V1. I am a little worried about shipping the the SE to China, waiting a long time, pay customs for the repaired model etc. By the way - what embarrassing for Hifiman that they still have this issue after all the years.

Given the price of the HEK SE that's really sad and unexpected.
The usual Hifiman warranty is 3 years for newly bought headphones, I hope that this is also true for the upgrade program.
On their website Hifiman mentions "return points" in the US, UK and Japan.
