Well, I'd rather give my money to Fang than some other business like a health insurance company or some bank. At least Fang is making a great contribution to society and adding to the general happiness level. (And in a sky-high ratio to the size of his company.)

Spoken like a true audio addict :)

Not signaling you out and also not saying you are the only important one here.

This will be a group effort.  If asked, and you (by you I mean everyone) suggest they're worth the price of the Abyss or 009s then that's what we'll get.

If asked and you suggest a reasonable price (that "most") can afford, that's what we'll get.  No one has any idea at this point what's on his mind, except the ones that's close to him and on his pricing team.

We can keep poking at the price until it's released...

Well, that is optimistic, and I admire that, but while I can't possibly know this of course, I'm quite sure the price point has been almost locked in for sometime now. With all of the innovation and the trend in flagship pricing you don't really think this was going to be $2000 do you? I will freely admit I can't possibly know the answer, and I hope I'm wrong, but I'm thinking this will be about $2499. Lets hope that like with many things I am wrong. Just watch the **** storm if it ends up selling at $2499, everybody will blame me saying I gave them the price! If only I was that important.

well, the $2499 price was the pricing that moonaudio quoted. the fact that they removed the pricing makes me believe that the pricing will be higher rather than lower.

Here's how they are gonna be priced:

In this thread we are giving the supplier a sense of how steep the AR (Demand) curve actually is for this product. The other curves are about production cost in various conditions. Hopefully Fang has high potential for economies of scale. Hifiman has been getting a reputation supplying high value high end-phones with the HE500, 560 and HE6, and I hope they will stick to that formula. The super-luxury demand is quite narrow.

Hey stop looking in my wallet

So true, many of us will regret it when we are older and have so little saved compared to the non-audio addict. I get a bonus at work, new headphones, my colleagues, right into RRSPs. Guess who is screwed in old age. The ultimate irony is our hearing will be so ****ty by then.

I guess many of you might know this, but the audio dude is Chico Buarque de Hollanda, one of the famous Brazilian songwriters/singers.Those pictures are from his first album, launched in 1966.

And now back to topic: hope the HE-1000's are not priced over $1500...

I'm with you.  I would love them to be priced there or lower, but I suspect they'll be looking at what Audeze sells their premier headphones for and testing the waters just above that.  In that case, though, I'm out.  I just can't shell out that much.

I don't think any headphone should sell for more than $500 no matter what anyone thinks they're worth.

+1 yes I believe these headphones will go for about 2.5 grand. But one must never underestimate the greed factor.

Maybe there will be a cheaper version with this nano tech in the future.
