it is unequivocally the best sounding headphones on earth.

This is a very bold statement and but not meaningful when not substantiated by comparisons against other ToTL systems.

The difference between $5000 and $500 headphones is way more substantial than spending that much more on the Dac/Amp. After listening with R10 (very addictive), rediscovering the favorite tracks to learn what the sound-stage, detail, treble, bass, imaging, and accuracy really mean, all other headphones suddenly sound so poorly. The audiophile industry and technology is still improving. Not discouraging, but encourage people to listen to the true high-end headphones to get that experience.

@TeamHiFiMAN Can you explain who this is and why they seem to be the only person on the planet with the R10 demo? This is seriously hurting your reputation.

that headband does not inspire luxury nor durability.
I think that headband is made to match the earpads. It would look weird if the headband looked mint but the earpads were falling apart.. Looking at the pads it's a likely scenario. I had Sundara and Ananda on those only one out of the four earpads survived. One Sundara pad actually fell apart without touching. Nice going saving $0,01 on a glue quality.

That cheap low quality Ananda pads goes for $80. Talk about Greed.

Thx for your impressions, and also for creating a new thread. The other one seems to be derailed again

Is this HiFiMan's first closed-back headphone?
