After listening with R10 (very addictive), rediscovering the favorite tracks to learn what the sound-stage, detail, treble, bass, imaging, and accuracy really mean, all other headphones suddenly sound so poorly. The audiophile industry and technology is still improving. Not discouraging, but encourage people to listen to the true high-end headphones to get that experience.

I think that headband is made to match the earpads. It would look weird if the headband looked mint but the earpads were falling apart.. Looking at the pads it's a likely scenario. I had Sundara and Ananda on those only one out of the four earpads survived. One Sundara pad actually fell apart without touching. Nice going saving $0,01 on a glue quality.

Thats a crazy price indeed. But I must say their customer service was exemplary in every way and I got two set of pads as a replacement.
