HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

I suggest, spend more time comparing Audivina and HE-R10P and post your findings after a few days and even weeks of testing. The reason is simple, our ears need time to adjust their memory. Now you are used to the Audivina signature, in a few days it will change and then you will be more likely to discover if Audivina is as good or less good.
I am listening and comparing my D8000 pro's to the Audivina's and I still have no conclusion. On some sessions I prefer the D8000 pro's, but on others I lean more towards the Audivina's. Since my ears are still in the process of getting used to the new sound, I reserve the right to be wrong. That said, i still think the Audivina are damn good headphones, nothing short of amazing when paired with the right amp, and we're talking here about comparing them to some of the coolest and most hyped headphones out there right now, given the highest user approval rating for the D8000 pro and a price tag double the original Audivina price tag.
I've been spending lots of time with the HE-R10P.
All I can say is ... Sleepless nights lol !!!

This thing is absolutely amazing. My initial impression mostly stands. It has slightly lower bass than Audivina but it does everything else slightly better.
In the end, they are both beautiful headphones and totally worth their costs.

So which ones to keep or skip and why?
If they have a similar sound signature, why keep both? I understand two pairs in the same stable when they are completely different like the D8000Pro and Audivina. But for me a big question is should I sell my Audivina and order HE-R10P if they are basically the same only even better?

I’ve been asking myself the same question. I still have 2 weeks left if I want to return my Audivina but something tells me to keep it. I use the HE-R10P all the time now and like you said it’s a slightly better version of the Audivina and at the same time Audivina is different and special. There’s nothing I’ve heard that’s tuned like the Audivina. Audivina is the definition of balance !

The only reasons for me to keep both would be first of all the unique tuning of Audivina to keep as a collector’s item lol. Second would be a backup headphones if the HE-R10P breaks some day although very unlikely as it’s built quite sturdy. I have a feeling if I don’t return the Audivina it’s just going to stay in its box forever 😂

Setup another listening station for the Audivina. Like R10P with a streamer for immersive and relaxing sessions in the lounge and the Audivina with a PC while working on light tasks in the home office.

For those who are interested, I ended up asking for a return of the cable. The exquisite silver cable tames what little bass the HE-R10P has and also makes it even more brighter than it is. Not the sound I'm looking for. Back to the stock cable which I really appreciate now that I've heard another one.

sometimes that does not work, silver is not always optimal.

I ordered a few days ago -r10p. Unfortunately, it is not available in Europe, although the website says in stock. I hope they will replenish the stock quickly. It will be interesting to see how they perform, I can't wait. I've had lcd-xc, zmf verite, r-10s and quite a few other closed headphones.

well well, another self-appointed expert here, reminds me of a story when such an expert for the first time was inside a music recording studio and complained about "unnaturally dry and lifeless sound" or a self-proclaimed opera expert girl complaining to me loud about imperfect acoustic of Vienna Opera House 🤣🤣🤣 really some Goofs not know they are Goofs
NB: wonder if this chart loving guy understands the graphs he is posting. the only neutral sound i know is the silence. the rest is not neutral.
