I chose the HE-560 over the LCD-2 for sound and weight. Someone else might prefer the LCD-2. I preferred the LCD-X to the LCD-2.

no need to read. I have the lcd-x (which is technically better than the lcd-2, have demoed the lcd-2 briefly) and I personally find the HE-560 to have superior technically abilities regarding sound quality.

HOWEVER, sound signature preferences weigh a lot more heavily than the subtle technical differences in performance, so one can easily find the audeze sound signature more enjoyable. click the lcd-x vs he-560 link in my sig if you want to read my personal comparative impressions.

I gotta say, the sub bass on this headphone isn't to be underestimated for anyone questioning its capability in this department. Detailed breadth and depth depending on the content being played.  Rumble in movies is incredible.

Yes, both of those have enough power to do a good job with the 560. Just see if anybody has either combination as synergy is also important. You might not enjoy a bright amp/dac with the 560 if you are at all sensitive to treble. I haven't heard either of those units myself. The 560 is worth the effort.

Yes it is! My Denon DRA636R vintage Receiver 1992 has a lot of power out of the headphone jack and drives them well. Be aware that the majority of receivers have crappy HP out. My Lyr has more power and I prefer the sound. Sounds like you are on the right path!

Hello all he-560 owners, I have he-560 and they are absolutely amazing. I use burson conductor and little dot mkiii as a desktop setup and ifi idsd micro for semi portable setup. I also have audio technica w3000anv and these headphones are really complementing each other.

Depending on music and feeling, I choose the setup accordingly. He-560 and burson is a great combination for most accurate presentation and soundstage, amazing for classical music and when things need to be realistic. He-560 is a great headphone, so comfortable, detailed.

Sounds like a fine match. I listened to the HE-560 through the Burson Conductor. The listening session sold me- and I bought my 560's right there. How does the Little Dot MKIII work with them? I'm using a Lyr and sounds great! Schiit Ragnarok on order!

I have found the LD tube sound very enjoyable with he-560. LD is designed for higher impedance headphones, but in my opinion it works well with he-560 also. I use burson most of the time, but when I want some warmth I switch to LD. Works well with smokey Islay malt

LD=Little dot, tubes make the sound warmer compared to burson. Also ifi idsd has slightly warmer sound than burson. However, burson is the most accurate, realistic and rhythmic of my amps and most of the time I'm using it.

Anyone try these out with the a grace design m920 as the amp and dac? I'm looking into replacing my Audeze LCD-2s due to extreme discomfort and am looking at alternatives.  I don't really want to go much above the $1k range.  I have some Audeze El-8s and Beyerdynamic T1s on the way.  Thinking of adding these to that to just try them out.

comfort on he560 is much better than the audeze lcds. they are detailed phones but not harsh. i found the beyer T1 too bright for my ears.
