So now, the speculation starts all over again, no HE-560 as was originally at the shows, sent to reviewers, no current pictures......oh my!  Hifiman better hurry before the Oppo PM-2 is released!

I'm not sure that this announcement from HFM made the most sense. After dropping in with news finally, it's announced that there are fairly significant changes...at least cosmetically. And then, poof. No further explanation, no picture...nada.

if PM 1 is lacking to me, how is the PM 2 to going to be any better?
sorry but coming from HD 800 everything is hard to catch up

The price of the PM-2 might make it more attractive and competitive with the HE-560.

Seems to me they don't know where this is going either, just making it up on the run.
Makes the HE400 release look good.

Let's not get out of hand. I would appreciate some more regular information and such. If there are big changes, then be specific about them. What are they? A picture in this case would truly be worth a thousand words.

An update on the delay would also be appreciated, even if it's an estimate.

But who cares, the Oppo house sound (which seems to be a bit south of the Audeze house sound even!) is completely different from HE560 / Hifimans in general, people will flock to one OR the other depending on their tastes.

So, have you heard the final release of the HE-560?  Explain what you heard of the Oppo house sound from what you heard personally!  That might be a pretty broad statement!

The price of the AlphaDogs make it more attractive and competitive than both pm1&pm2.
Sorry but AlphaDog has greater clarity than pm1 while less soundstage than PM1 but not by much.
Sorry to burst that bubble.

I will say the PM1 form factor and quality are excellent and superior.
Also agree it's just a different house sound so personal preference will prevail. .

I hear a much bigger soundstage with the AD (recabled) than the PM-1....clarity and soundstage is why I returned the PM-1 for refund, and repurchased the AD.  Decided on the AD and the HE-560, because they compliment each other with my setup!

Wow surprising I returned my PM-1 a while ago as well.

Also of note is that all these units mentioned are not high impedance cans, so some high impedance tube Amps may not be optimal

Oppo got my PM-1 back today, and within two hours my Paypal was refunded......that is pretty damn good!  I am hoping Hfm doesn't change the sound of the 560 from where it is now!  I hope they have a beta test of the final release, so impressions get posted by those familiar with the sound!

Somebody must have the final release version, for feedback to Hifiman before they turn it loose to the masses....they need the opinion of at least some of those with Hifiman experience.

I think the most interesting comparison I believe would be is between the LCD X & the he560.
