Well, that's exactly both your statements.

Like Jerg said, it's actually much closer to the HE-6 in terms of overall sound performance while being 1) marginally heavier than the 4s, 2) much lighter than the 6s 3) more comfy than either, by a good margin.

Funny story: when I put my HE-6 back on my head yesterday - after 10 days spent with the 560s - I immediately noticed the headband on top of my head for few minutes. I had no issue with that before...

Thank you for you kind reply, appreciated.

The HE-6 headband always extorted some pressure on the top of my head. It was split relatively evenly but it could definitely use more padding for sure. The pads on the other hand were either itchy with the velours or a bit stiff with the pleathers so...
I am definitely very happy both of these issues have been fixed and other things improved (weight, sensitivity, build quality hopefully) with this next iteration!
Now all we need is shipping :D

Hmm I was hoping for a cheaper and easier-to drive HE-6 replacement. Heavier than HE-4 and twice the price doesn't really attract me.

Your reply is rather confusing to me. You are comparing it to two headphones with 3x price difference. Is this the HE-6 successor or HE-4 successor?

If its HE-6 successor that it is lighter and cheaper if not its everything opposite. And why so aggressive?

His reply made sense, and wasn't aggressive. Your initial post was what was confusing. The HE-560 is in fact lighter and cheaper than the HE-6, so you got what you hoped for. What's the problem? Heavier than the HE-4 - does it matter? They're both feather-weights.

One thing I notice over time is the clamping pressure of the 560 though.  I know for certain that hifiman's rather random about the clamping of their headbands, but my 560 clamps a good bit more than the 400.  That combined with a smaller opening/shallower pad makes it a less comfortable experience for my ears.  I'm going to try to stretch out the headband some to see it if helps.

Quickly, edit your post before Hifiman read it and delay the phone again!

I've got a response from Fang after writing him about the headband pressure, which could be a possible problem for many western bigheads. He kindly appreciates my suggestions for improvement. He is not sure if this will lead to further delays of the final release, but thinks they will have a perfect solution at least by the end of july.

Not funny -_-
HFM likes torturing us... with silence!
I swear if this headphone's release date gets pushed by early June I am doing something about it... No chill pills are gonna help them then!

They shouldn't bother with the pressure issue because it is so easily fixed by the listener. I swear, real design issues are worth complaining about. But a little clamping pressure? Come on people.
