It's new to me headphone 🎧 day. 😊
I'm giving the HE560 V1 a second listen with the usual test file playlist. I'm powering them with the LP RS08 in balanced mode. I'm totally impressed with what I'm hearing so far. They sound like a different headphone when driven with the right amplifier. They're definitely worth owning.
I feel like I just struck gold. ☺️

Welcome to the family bro! The HE-560s scale with amplifier quality as well as any pair of Hifiman round cup phones I've heard exception the HE-6. Damn good headphones that can be purchased for a song these days. Congratulations on the new 560s! I'm stoked to hear that you're diggin' them. 🎉🤘😎

I find vocals to be a little lean or distant when driving my HE-560 with any of the solid state amplifiers I have on hand. For me, tubes fill in the mids tonally and make the 560s sound their best.
Would you recommend the Lyr-3 to drive them and what tube would be a good match? 😉

Been a good few years since I owned a pair of these. I remember when I got them I was very luke-warm to them, finding them a bit dry and boring. I did grow to like them quite a bit after a while, but ended up selling them on to free up cash.

Just for kicks I ordered a pair of V4s through Hifiman's clearance sale. I was previously seriously considering a pair of HE-R10Ps, but thankfully they sold out, so I decided to jump on these.

I think the last time I had these I only have the Sony TA-ZH1ES amp, which really didn't have the juice to fully drive these. With the Jote 2 I should have plenty of headroom to run these.

Yeah, the Jot will do just fine with the HE-560s. After you've had some time with them, make sure you come back and let us know what you think of them the second time around. It would be interesting to see if your impressions hold up.

Here's to hoping you dig 'em! :beerchug:
