If anyone has interest I'll be selling both a Nucleotide V3 and Norne wire based quality custom cables using Eidolic connectors for the HE-560 at parts cost.

I've been getting an occasional popping sound in my right channel, I'm not sure what's causing it. Its happened on two different cables. I swapped the channels, left and right, and the popping still occurred in the right channel, so I think that narrows it down to the headphone. Anyone heard of this happening before?

The male end of the cable or the jack? Because it seems to happen regardless of the cable.
Both ends on the Y split and the amp side. Coat it lightly and make slow rotating love with the jack.

Should I put isopropyl on the male plug and then insert and rotate? A q-tip with cotton removed didn't fit into the jack.
Any time in the past when the HE 560 wasn't available on Amazon? Is the 560 in that much demand?

I didn't even look on Amazon when I got mine, went to https://www.sonicelectronix.com/, it was on sale at the time. Just do a search for "HE560 on sale" it might turn up some sales

Hi,
I'm looking for a headphone with a warm, non-fatiguing, smooth treble (smooth upper-mids would probably be also good) for basically all kinds of music, mainly rap, rock and pop though.
From what I gathered so far the HE-560, the Focal Elear and the Audeze LCD-2 might fit my criteria.
So what do you think? Is the HE-560 worth a try for me? And how does it compare to the LCD-2 and the Elear?

I'll be posting a review of the Elear any day (it's done, but I always have trouble letting them go, keep editing them), including comparisons with the 560. I did a quick comparison earlier in this thread. I don't think the 560 and the Elear are at all similar (560 is not laid back on top,for one thing).

I'm probably not in the best position to offer advice, but, at least, I can say that the 560 and LCD2 are quite different headphones in many areas. The 560 has more treble, the LCD2 has a thicker full sounding mids, the 560 sound more open/airy, etc.

I agree with the other posters that the HE560 is not what I would call warm or non-fatiguing but it would be my choice for rap, rock and pop over the LCD2 since you want some energy with those genres. Can't comment on Elear since I haven't had a change to hear one yet but a friend who has them and knows my taste in sound signatures very well told me it wouldn't be my cup of tea due to the slightly recessed mids.

My thought is don't go for the LCD2. It's not a bad headphone, but not quite what you're looking for, at least in my opinion.
Between the HE560 and Elear, I would lean towards getting the HE560 because it's much cheaper while offering almost the right thing. And when I say that, I'm talking about the sound signature rather than fidelity. Both are incredible enough that it didn't really matter to me, but you might feel differently. Then again, when I demoed the Elear, I'd say it fits your preference a bit better than the HE560 (for treble and mid reasons), but at the cost of an extra couple hundred dollars. Elears were also more comfortable in my opinion. If you can spare the extra cash, I'd pick the Elear over the HE560; I liked the Elear a lot, just not for how much it cost. $1k is a bit too steep for me at my current stage in life.

To me, the 560 is more comfortable. The Elear has smoother highs-I think they are a bit rolled off. They both are very good cans.
