Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

my stock pads pleather is peeling and popping out of the cup rim :frowning2: had them for 5 or 6 months, ive got the new 2.5mm version, is it hard to replace pads on these? i'm not well experienced with maintenance on headphones.

I'd try contacting Hifiman customer service to see if they'll send you a fresh pair of pads. $40 pads should last longer than 6 months, imo.

"HiFiman customer service" is an oxymoron, like "military music" or "good morning".

I've actually always had really good experiences with HFM's customer service.  Their QC might be bad, but they've always done the right thing for issues I've had.

While you are at it you can pick me up a spare as well.

I actually want to get some "fashion" cans like the B&W P7 or the M&D MH40's. Need something closed, easy to drive and not too large. Oppo PM-3 is an option too.

Thoughts? (I know this is a 400i thread)

Loving the Hifiman's so far. Opeth sounds incredible on them.

Woah, threw me off a bit. Didn't know they made a closed 598... I thought that would be the 569s, which were quite good when I demoed them.
