Hi guys, I have an HE-6SE V2 on the way...is the HE-400i still worth having in the stable? Main music is 90% classic jazz and the rest classic rock and various. Thank you.

I remember trading away a pair of MDR-7550 to buy a pair of MDR-1000X (might have the model name wrong...) Figuring for sure the higher end model was going to perfect for me. Hated the new model and lost the model I loved...

Thanks, I didn't mean instead. I meant in addition to it. Because I have no Hifiman headphones and tried to fill out my choices a bit lately.

If you have HE-6SE V2 on the way, after some time spent with it, my guess is that sooner or later you should know whether you'd like to have extra cans

Hi! I didn't get a chance to read the whole thread. Looking for a budget portable amp for my 400i 2020 and Cayin or Hiby portable players only. I don't use my phone as a music player, so don't need one for that. Any suggestions under $120? Thanks! Edit: I do have an old Fiio E11 is it good enough?

But 400i 2020 on Amazon if you don't like them return them. I doubt you will.

Amazon didn't become the dominate retail force on the planet by being Scamazon. You may not have had great experiences with Amazon, or so I assume, but I would like to know what data source you have to claim that Amazon doesn't work in "most parts of the world". First, you would need to define EXACTLY what you mean by doesn't work.

Ok, I finally found a new pair with the 3,5mm sockets at a fair price. I really didn't need this, but...

Now I have to read 957 pages to see what amps people are using. My headstation has a V280 running -12 dB and a Phonitor 2 with the stock gain settings. Not sure if I should try running it SE or balanced. I'll wait to order a cable until I can try it in this setup.

Today I heard the 2016 version 400i in comparison to Sundara, k702 and Sennheiser Game One. It blew away k702 and defeated both Sundara and Game One in my opinion (EQd all of them though). There are however 2 versions I'm interested in, the 2016 and 2014. Does anyone know the differences between them (apart from one using SMC jack and the 2016 normal jacks)? Is the 2016 worse/better in sound/comfort and QC?
