I saw this while looking around on a Chinese blog site.  I did some further research and the HE-300 will have a DYNAMIC driver instead of planers like the rest of the HE line.  Also going to be two new products for portable gear such as a new DAP and IEM.  But no news of the much anticipated (at least to me), EF6 amp.

Sounds like a more budget friendly HiFiman model, but I could be wrong

Interested in seeing how they fair with any amp because of the Dynamic Driver

*Subscribed* Super interested in this. IIRC, this should be priced around $300-$350.

Interesting, but it better hold up to it's planars. I was expecting a budget planar :frowning2:

That's solidly mid priced from where I'm looking...

Ah, well, I was going in comparison to the HE500 and HE6. I don't think a "Budget" ($150ish?) full-sized ortho is even possible...maybe if the one magnet thing works on the lower end, but even back then, they weren't exactly cheap...

A modern portable ortho like the YHD-1 would be awesome though. Probably around $150 too. Please Hifiman?

The T50RP is only $75.

A lot of that is volume, but still...

Also, the design doesn't really fit dynamics, the huge flat grille would better match the flat driver design of planars.

...oh derp...Forgot about Fostex.

...yeah I can't defend this point anymore. Fostex sells the T20RP for like $50.

I remember the release of this was delayed so long because the dude in charge of these was less than impressed with the sound too. He wanted them to compete with the orthos somewhat.

Well that sounds like good news.
