I have a decent collection of cans, but the Arya still impresses. Awesome all-rounder that gets you most of the way there. Perhaps the best value among high-end cans (along with the HD800)...almost reminds me of the HD650 in its segment some years back (in terms of bang for your buck).

I sold all my headphone gear and just have the Arya. I stopped listening to my other gear. It's that good. Sold a pair of Fostex TH900 and Sennheiser HD600. With a small amount of EQ the bass slams on the Arya like my Fostex. Bass like Fostex with open-ness of a Sennheiser without a veil. Very open, dynamic, and has the bass.

My advice would be to contact your seller.

The seller reacted very quickly!
DPD came today and picked up the headphones.
Let's see how long it will be before I get a new pair of headphones sent back.

Hi
I listen to my arya on ifi micro idsd signature. I love the detailed and slightly warm sound it gives.
I would like to have another amp that was warmer and more musical for rock, mainly.
I think that with eq i could solvent this problem but using ifi as dac/amp its not possible applys eq.
Ananda with xbass in rock worked very well but arya doesn't have that midbass slam that ananda had. Arya in general is better in many genres as it is more detailed and wide but in rock it sounds thin.
A tube amp would be good for me? , or some dac / amp with a signature similar to mojo but more powerful?
Cheers

OK. But not in sound. The Arya would match up with the HD-600 better.

Digital amp via streaming (TIDAL/UAPP/Tooneboosters EQ) -> DAC

Arya works well with quite a few SS amps, imagine some high buck tubes would work too.

Agreed.

To me HD600 are very strong even today :)
Enjoy!

True, though after owning multiple pairs of both, I felt the 650s were clearly technically superior even if the 600s had a more neutral tone.

To each his own. A few minutes I ago I said the 650 sounds like a 600 with two layers of burlap between driver and ear. Warmed over rubbish to my ears. But I do like the Arya as thje best can in its price range.

I'd stick to HD600, but I'm biased. These Senns were my first audiophile cans, before them there were only $5 earbuds :)

Hi, how does the arya sound with the hugo2?

i had two aryas. One bought brand new from retail. and the other bought from a member from this forum. Both cans had the exact same issue. The left channel had lower volume than the right. As a result, the voice, which is typically recorded in the center of the sound stage was shifted a little to the right. The right channel basically sounded louder. It had more bass, treble, everything. This was a deal breaker for me. for a $1.5k headphone, this should never be acceptable. So I sold both.

TBH, this is very common with hifiman cans. I had the same issues with my THREE pairs of Sundaras. Except, with those, the left channel was louder instead of the right LOL. Honestly, ive had with Hifiman headphones. One of, if not the worst QC of any headphone company that ive dealt with. I was actually considering buying a HE1000se but the qc issues have put me off big time.

Do yourself a favor, if you face channel imbalnce issues with your Arya or any other Hifiman Headphones, contact customer service and get a refund. Chances are, if they send you a replacement, it might also have the same issue. hifiman doesnt seem to understand the importance of QC. Also, if you are considering buying a hifiman can from the buy/sale section here in Headfi, ask the seller about QC issues. I made the mistake and payed dearly for it.

Yea I just bought a second pair of Aryas (new like the first one) that has the same issue. Right louder than the left. The first one was OK. I've contacted the dealer and am waiting for a reply.

Looks to be a common issue with the Aryas it seems. Surprising, because I've owned 8 HIFIMAN cans over the years and never had issues with them.

It's really sad and frustrating that a flagship $1500 headphone has such poor QC. Back when I had the sundaras with this issue, I didn 'mind as much because it's a $399 headphone but for their high end stuff to have the same type of issue over and over again, it's just plain ridiculous. What's even more disappointing is that hifiman won't even fix this issue, nor admit it. If you contact their customer service, it's as if it's so rare of an issue that they had no idea this was happening. That's why I've given up on their headphones. Was about to pull the trigger on a he1000se but couldn't get myself to do it. The last thing I want is to drop $3500 and get a headphone whose left and channel don't match. Gonna spend that money on my 3rd zmf or a Abyss headphone.

Is there anything that can replace the Arya in most aspects? Ain't trying to spend that much on a headphone only for its defects to show, especially for us minimum wage audiophiles.
