HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread

I have my Vali 3 paired with a Bifrost 2/64, and it works well with the Arya Stealth. With the stock tube you get a little more airyness with a slightly wider (but a little deeper) soundstage (at least in my experience). Top end is not over accentuated vs a SS amp, but it is still detailed. Mids are slightly more flushed out, and male vocals benefit from this as does acoustic guitar. The Vali 3 has enough power to give you a decently extended low end (keep in mind I am comparing this to my Mjolnir 3). Your experience will vary depending on the tubes you choose to use. I would suggest reading up on tube recommendations in the Vali 3 thread. There is a lot of detailed information regarding tube pairings there.
I do like these with the Russian tubes, including the stock one. My partner unit is the Schiit BF2.
Mindbreak's comment is the exact same as mine with the V2's.
Thanks for the replies! I have the stock tube as well as a GE 5670 5 star and an RCA 5670 black plate tube to roll with when I end up getting the Arya. So far I’ve had a lot of fun with both tubes using my Meze 99 Classics (they’ve made them sound amazing with the added headroom and resolution) so I can’t wait to try them on an open back pair of cans like the Arya Organic! I got to test my stack on a pair of Sennheiser 558s and the soundstage was quite nice but I’m sure the Arya experience will be superior.

I put my 5 Star back in my Vali 3 recently and I love that tube with most of my headphones.
I find that I am just hanging with either thick Russians or super precise 5*.

Hi guys I could do with some guidance.
Foolishly I sold my HEKv1 earlier this year and yeah I sort of regret it.

I love the set up I have with the Abyss 1266TC and I am sure they will be my go to HP for the considerable future.
I have the HD800S also as an alternative, but I may let these go.
I am keen to look at a headphone with a bit of a more relaxed sound. I find the Hifiman line up a bit confusing now so would love some guidance. I would love the Susvara bit its too expensive to have as a second HP i think.

I looked the Arya and had more or less decided on the Arya Organic as the name suggests a more relaxed sound, however after reading a few reviews they are classed as a peaky treble HP. This is a no go for me as I definitely have an issue with this area. Even my TCs can sometimes sound a bit shrill to me on some occasions.

The HEK?? Is there now 4 versions?? Versions 1, 2, 3 and an SE?? Is the Stealth just another name for one of the aforementioned versions?

If a peaky treble is what I want to avoid which model should I be looking for?
Would it be an Arya or HEK? .......and yeah I have a feeling that you may come back with HEKV1 ...... :relaxed:

Any guuidance appreciated

Hekv2 if you can find one. That is the most relaxed one after the v1, just more durable, better built and overall also a bit more refined than the Aryas.

Looked into it because I really love the look. It goes well with several of my headphones. the big one being a planar like the Arya, (my senns seemed like a no brainer), but the dt1990 works well too. It's actually not that unaffordable? (900e). I can get my hands on it relatively soonish after my next purchase without saving for a year. And as I said, I like the look, which can be a problem for me with tube amps. (Hey I don't want to compromise or settle with my expensive stuff. I want it to look great!).

Might just be perfect for my first tube amp methinks. So thanks for posting this!👍

I highly recommend it. It's a GREAT amp for the money. I read some reviews about it and several people loved it with their Arya Stealth.

Also it sounds fantastic with my Focals and Sennheiser. :p

Would you say the stealth and the SE are a bit too peaky in the treble ….if that’s my nemesis ?

I‘ve only heard the HE1kSE so far and would not recommend it. The Arya Organics are much more relaxed and full sounding.
The Arya is great value, but the more I read it has a problem with the treble..........I was just about to buy one , but then I read a few reviews and almost all said it was a bright HP in comparison to other Hifiman models.

I can see the point many reviewers are making when using the Arya Stealth, but it didn’t reflect my experience with the Arya Organics. They still have an uneven treble response, but it is altogether better controlled due to it being more recessed.
The one HE1K SE model I tried out on the other hand sounded „hot“ in the highs, with a peak in upper presence. Very resolving, but a bit too stressful for me. I am now looking into buying the Arya Organics, though I have to admit that their price seems a bit steep for what they offer. Still, great comfort and relaxed sound IMHO. As always, YMMV.
