Did you return Ananda and they gave you a discount on Arya? May I know how much you had to pay?

How much do you think they are better than Ananda?

Would Chord Mojo have enough power to drive Arya well?
Although not recommended I used to carry my Arya in my bookbag and listen to it at work with my Mojo and Iphone listening to Tidal. I enjoyed that pairing quite a bit. I became afraid I would break my Arya and purchased the Sundara. I now leave my Arya at home. Thinking back on it, I was convinced that my Mojo was a wasted purchase until I matched it with the Arya.

A lot of you guys running Valhalla 2 it seems. does it give the best synergy paired with the Arya compared to non-tube amps?
It is a worthy and messy pairing, needs to be done with delicacy due to low frequencies and possible distortion at high volume, this doesn't happen as much as one would think tho. Sinergy is really good.

Valhalla 2 (with the right tubes) and Arya make for a surprisingly capable combo. 👍
Great to hear that this is a good combo. :relaxed:
(I use Russian NEVZ and Telefunken PCC88)

I am still deciding which is the better option, a used HE1000V2 or a new Arya?
Can anyone comment on this choice?
Thx

Take it with a grain of salt as I've never heard the HE1000V2, but I've heard several people say that if you can afford or get the HE1000V2 you should go for it. I say this as a very very happy Arya owner with no desire to go any higher (yet 😂).

So do these headphone work fine with a Chord Dave or Hugo 2 or do you need an external amplifier?

So an update on my experiences with my new Arya:

- Cut new plastic rings for the lambskin pads. I also cut some 1mm dynamat-type material into risers under the pads, in order to move the cups/drivers a little farther away from my ears. Seems to work wonders. Really liking these pads.
- Got the Singxer SA-1 amp and a nice sort-of-viking-weave XLR cable from Aliexpress - impressed with both of them!
- Also got a custom 1.5 meter 4.4balanced cable from Koala Audio Cables in Australia. Really nicely done and only $70 delivered to Thailand.

Will try these out for a while and then get a new DAC later in the year....
The Arya is phenomenal.

I'd rate them about equal, give or take some preferences in sound. Maybe the HE1000V2 has a bit better tuning, but I can confidently say they're not too different (if at all) in terms of technical ability. Now, how much are you willing to pay for metal/wood cups and a better headband? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks.
Definitely not for 1500€ (new vs new), used vs new is another question.
If they are so similar, it might come down to "Do I trust build quality from Hifiman", meaning is buying a used HE1000V2 more "risky" than buying a new Arya?

Correct. To be clear, I have a preamp that helps attenuate the volume level so I have plenty of play with the volume control.
Hi, I've made this speaker tap, but have no time to evaluate SQ. Maybe this evening... I've only checked if it works. Without attenuation I can go to 9 o'clock with -20db attenuation to 12 o'clock volume with comfortable listening levels for me.
