The limitation is more likely from its software OS, probably some sort of Linux.
SonyOS is also Unix and can handle at least 90.000 tracksThe limitation is more likely from its software OS, probably some sort of Linux.
hard to compare r2r with delta sigm, all depends on your preferenceMy views:
1. Non-android dap, linux based OS. Pure music playing. I do not even want Tidal on it.
2. I am okay with battery life of 10 hours as I really look for standby in non-android daps. A standby of 40 days is awesome feature to have. I really do not want to switch on and off my daps after a session of listening.
3. Size is just perfect. Small and compact.
4. I am mostly into iems, staying away from headphones. I just hope it pairs well with my iems and has enough power to drive most of them.
How good would it sound is the main question. If it sounds as good a DTR1, it will just be amazing. But I highly doubt that.
By all accounts, I would imagine so. Unless you desire a no nonsense, pocket sized dap, the RS6 should serve you just fine. Please tell me the RS6 is better sounding than this...I don't need another player...oh man but I like the form factor.
Just get a RS2 from a local shop, very handy little player, solid built. Comes with a leather case which is fitted tightly.
First Impression, kinda of Sony's tuning, warm, organic and musical, yet not that booming. Female vocals is quite addictive liked the older generation of AK DAP with very beautiful instrumental performance. The background is clean and dark, half of the volume can drive my planar HOOK X well. The light at the side turns orange when playing lossless, and turns blue when playing hi-res.
I am so impressed on how good the RS2 sounds with its size. Its SQ is way better than the R5II ( I tried before ) to me. It's simply more refined than the DX170 I try the same time.
If bluetooth, wifi, streaming is not what you are concerned for a new DAP, then RS2 is good to go !
Does the bass has good quantity, but still good quality to prevent bleeding into mids?Just get a RS2 from a local shop, very handy little player, solid built. Comes with a leather case which is fitted tightly.

That would depend more on the iems/headphones you are using.Does the bass has good quantity, but still good quality to prevent bleeding into mids?
It’s probably a combination. The Sony A45 could only handle about 35.000 tracks while the A55, ZX300 and 1Z can handle my full library of over 60.000 tracks yet are essentially using the same OSI just realized Dethonray dtr1+ supports 160k tracks and is using an even worse CPU than the RS2 (jz4760b vs x1000e).
So 50k must be a limit set by Hiby for their OS, they could probably increase it without any issues. Not that I care, I don't even have 50k songs.
