We did announce the availability and pricing of the R6 in Beijing then. It just didn't reach head-fi because I'm an idiot.
The fact that the availability will at first be limited to China may also have something to do with it.
The announcement:
It will first sell in JD.com next month at 3698RMB (roughly equivalent to 560USD according to today's exchange rate).
At that point it would not yet be officially available overseas, though we will strive to serve any customers who get their hands on the R6 overseas just as well as we serve customers in China.
In the meantime we have had distributors approach us in the US, UK and internationally so we're confident we will be able to serve these major markets in a timely manner when production ramps up.

That's cool Joe, and don't put yourself down, you do a great job regardless 
Oh, and btw, if the specs on paper translate into actual performance (as I believe they will), the price sounds very competitive. I'll just have to patiently wait until it gets to Europe... and if you plan a review tour, here I am
