I Am a happy owner of the Hiby R6 III. I am having problems configuring it as a Bluetooth receiver. Tried both with my LG OLED TV and my Apple TV 4K latest gen and in both cases the Hiby is detected but connection fails each and every time. I get a warning on my TV and on the Apple TV to check if my Bluetooth receive (the Hiby) is in receiver mode (it is, of course). Maybe I am missing something… some help would be welcome. Happy New Year BTW!

So having got a fancy new dac/amp that I want to connect the R6 with, I just want to confirm with people who actually know what they are doing about something.

I want to use the R6 as library only and let the dac do the converting etc. Do I just connect the R6 to the dac via usb? When I do the r6 asks me if I want the dac access to the library.

I know normally a digital connection usually means it bypasses the initial dac. I just wanted to confirm since this is Android etc.

Yes you can use the usb-c as an output source. So just connect and the hiby will be used as a transport device.
I don't know if it is bitperfect though! Maybe Hiby can answer that!
I use the usb-c to dac every day with my Fiio k7 and it sound great.

In de Specs heet hiby says (hope that helps)
HiBy's ingenious system-wide bit-perfect audio architecture ensures high-resolution audio decoding across diverse applications. The unique Direct Transport Architecture (DTA) of HiBYOS circumvents sample rate conversion at the system kernel level, enabling seamless bit-perfect output at the original sample rate through headphone outs, line outs, or the USB Audio digital output, even for third-party apps

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me, does this DAP support volume control during play via USB?
I have headphones Shure Aonic 50 Gen 2 and I tried to use them via USB-C cable with this DAP, but I can't control volume. Headphones sound too loud and don't react to volume control.

My R6III allows volume control when connected to a computer via USB-C

That's what I assumed. But the R6 is displaying the headphone icon on the top of the homescreen, but does show USB when playing music on the hiby music player.

Are you connecting headphones straight into the USB? If so then you are bypassing the players amp so you won't be able to adj the sound.

EDIT. I cannot try this, but if you go into the hiby music player settings and find

USB output setting.
Lock USB Audio Vol
Unlock volume.

No idea if this works, and not sure if its across all apps.

Tho I must add I really wouldn’t be using usb for headphones.

Is it possible to disable (or replace with system one) HiBy volume change visualization?

For me it is the second R6 III drawback. The first one is the volume regulator itself (why not to learn from Shanling?).

Guys,

I just received my R6 III and the LED yellow color is half green (left half) - half yellow (right half). Please check the attached.
I emailed Hiby and was told that its normal. The rest colors I saw are solid monocolored, but yellow is green-yellow.

Could you please check yours and let me know? Manual says that 48kHz and under — yellow.
I am curious if its a quality control issue or all R6 III have this feature with yellow color.

Thank you.

The same (and it doesn't bother me at all).

Guys, I want to share the info. I found that the Bluetooth volume is low. I checked with the Hiby support who advised me to unlock the Developer menu and unlock the volume limit for BT there, and It helped! If you are interested in getting to the Developer menu in R6III, here is the way: First, go to Settings->About device->tap the "Firmware version" several times to activate the developer options. Second, go to Settings->System->Developer options, and scroll down the screen, you can find the Bluetooth volume limit disable.

Hello,

I purchased R6 III and official Hiby USB-C to RCA coaxial cable during BF sales.

I am trying to connect R6 III to RME ADI-2 DAC FS (version 1) using the coaxial connection but anything above 48 kHz (e.g. 96 kHz and DSD) is not detected by my ADI-2 DAC FS.

I have three other devices with RCA coaxial input i.e. Schiit Bifrost (version 1) which has AKM AK4113 SPDIF receiver chip, ifi iDSD micro (version 1) and el cheapo Nedis RCA coaxial to Toslink audio converter (as a not optimal solution to the problem at hand) which all are able to detect also 96 kHz PCM. ADI-2 DAC FS works flawlessly with FiiO M11 Plus ESS however so I am at a loss here.

I have been in contact with Hiby and RME supports. Hiby is a dead end as they just informed me that devices are not compatible because of "electrical signal level difference". I was informed by RME that I can send my ADI-2 DAC FS to RME for check-up if my unit has a bit insensitive coaxial input at higher sample rates which can be fixed.

If anyone here has similar setup please could you get back and tell if your ADI-2 DAC FS works with R6 III at 96 kHz PCM and DSD before I send my DAC to RME for inspection which can prove to be quite expensive for me.
