Hello to all. I purchased an Ibasso DX170 and a Hiby r6 lll. I’m keeping the Hiby R6 lll and sending the DX170 back.
Now I have a question if I may.
On Z-Reviews he mentions that there is a sound stage adjustment, where is this and what is it called???

Thanks in advance my fellow audiophile music lovers.
That would be the "Sound Field" plugin. Under system "audio settings" (one of the options under the notification shade)->Plugins. Another exciting feature, the DRX10K Dynamics plugin, also made its debut there very recently: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/introducing-the-all-new-hiby-drx10k.968627/

It looks really nice and also seems to make controlling the volume knob easier than the clear case that came with it.

I find it kinda clumsy to change the volume with it.

Yeah it's a little more easy to control than the green case I used, I'm more than happy. I bought mine trough Hifigo if your interested in the same. Also brown leather is always classy.

Sorry if this is a bit of a silly (and previously answered) question, but I’m considering purchasing this DAP, but just want to be sure it will fulfil my requirements.

I currently use and stream music from Qobuz. For portable use I use Qobuz on my iPhone 14 along with Hidizs DH80S DAC/Amp that I attach to the back of my phone, utilising the 4.4mm output.

I’m currently quite happy with this set up, although I’d rather have a dedicated device for music listening - as it’s slightly annoying when I just want to use my phone for general use when listening to music. Also, sometimes I’m getting and hearing interference which can be annoying. I assume this is due to the amp being so close to the phone.

With the Hiby R6 gen 3, if I download Qobuz from the Google store, will it stream and play hi-res music without any issues or limitation up to 192khz (as well as store and download for offline use?) I’m aware android usually limits to 48khz on android phones (and a work-a-round using UAPP is required), is this limitation then bypassed on this DAP and I can simply just download the Qobuz app like I would on my iPhone and stream hi res music without any faffing about?

Also, if I’m using the DAP when out and about, will it stream Qobuz seamlessly if it’s connected to my iPhone via mobile hotspot (Wi-Fi)?

lastly, will there also be noticeably improvement in SQ over my current portable set up?

Thanks

Regarding Qobuz, I've been using it without issues since my purchase several weeks ago. I get the highest resolution Qobuz offers. Per the description, this doesn't have the limitations that Android phones have: "supports systemwide bit-perfect audio for true high-resolution audio across different applications". I purchased this for the same reason you are. Too much garbage on my phone causing issues and I wanted a solid piece of hardware with no audio limitations for listening.
I've been very happy so far.

Quite happy with my new setup of Hiby R6III paired with Sennheiser IE600. However, I noticed that 3rd party players have issues. Mediamonkey is scanning all files, but cannot play. Neutron doesn't scan the library at all. The HiBy-App says "update available" but cannot update.

Can you first update to latest version of everything you can update (firmware may require several update cycles, apps other than hibymusic) and report back? Not that this would necessarily fix the issues but it does give us a common base to start on.

Ok, I rebooted the device. Then finally managed to update the HiBy app (obviously you have to ignore some security warnings, the device finds its own app suspicious).
Then removed the 3rd-party apps. Rebooted again and re-installed the 3rd party apps and had the library re-scanned. Now everything works fine!

I'm very close to buying one of these, can anyone tell me how the sound quality compares to my beloved Gryphon please?

Mine arrive a couple days ago.

My impressions so far:

I loved the size and general feel in and. Coming from a Wm1m2 it feels considerably smaller and lighter. I would prefer a solid material on the back though.

Software runs fine, I was able to download all i wanted and get a feeling of how everything works in no time.

As sound goes its still behind sony wm1am2, but for the price is pretty good value. Mseb is a nice feature, but its taking me some time to find a sweet spot.

I just received my Hiby R6 III and I'm enjoying the Class A amplifier mode. I'm hearing/imagining a faster bass attack on class A. Most notably when I'm listening to large orchestral tracks. I also thought that the bassline in 101 Eastbound sounded more 'fun' on the Class A mode. (it's all in my mind)

If you try the DRX10K Dynamics system plugin on your new r6III and hear a bass attack that's as fast as you dial it up to (within reason), that's not your imagination playing up, that's the latest advances in studio audio engineering bringing you one of the most coveted features of any HiFi system in spades on a plate :) Give it a try?
