hi fi and hearing aids?

Just read a reply from a member who said he has worn hearing aids since age 3.
Since I may have to wear hearing aids someday I'm curious if there are any other members who wear these and how they listen to hearphones. I know the older you get the hearing falls of in the higher freq. I don't think anyone would want to listen to headphones while wearing hearing aids since they are not full range: Besides hearing losses at both ends could be overcome with equalization.
When and if the day comes Etymotic is the company that would have the best hearing aid.

HI: Welcome to head-fi.
How old is old? I am 60 years old and am hearing just fine even after years of loud music loud gun fights and other loud stuff. I had a pair of headphones that other youger guys said were just fine and I said that I hear a low distortion in them. I sent them to the factory to get check out and they said that the cans had a low end distortion in them and put a new driver in them. As far as maby a high end drop off great it just might make the music more mellow. I would not worry about hearing aids just yet but you could not play the music to loud. When I play the music lower my brain ajust to that level and in a few min. the music sounds loud enough. Maby when I am 90 years old it will be different but I will still be listening to music even if I have to get a transplant and put etys grafted into my head. You should protect your hearing when your having a gun fight as they can result in hearing loss.

Boy do I know ... my right ear is a little less loud due to a gunshot during an attempted car jacking. The gun was so close I had powder burns on my hand and face.
