I recently bought, for very cheap here on Head-Fi, a pair of BMC Pinnacle Gold interconnects, with gold Eichmann Bullet RCA terminaisons, and I must admit, I always thought cable made very little difference, but this pair here made a big one.

The sound is warmer, fuller, bass is enhanced, while the level of detail and speed stay the same.

I was wondering what experienced Head-Fiers would use as interconnects with my rig, cables such as Grovers, Wolff etc...

Here is my current rig:

Stock Emu 1212m (via coaxial out with moon-audio Blue Dragon Digital RCA to BNC cable or optical out via eBay's glass optical cable / I use the switch on my DAC to A/B compare them)

to

Stock Benchmark DAC-1 (via Cardas XLR to RCA adapters and BMC Pinnacle Gold interconnects)

to

Customs Singlepower MPX3 (used with 12SN7 Sylvania tubes mostly / via Cardas MicroTwin 300B interconnects)

to (Headphones: Sony MDR-SA5000/grado SR325i)

QUAD 99 Solid State Monoblocks (via moon-audio DH Labs silver speaker cable)

to

Dynaudio Audience 62 floorstanding speakers

Thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Nice Stuff you got there.

What are your own ideas about the IC? What kind of sonic signature are you looking for, e.g. fast, analytical, warm, wide sound stage, focused soundstage, "dark" or "bright"?

warm, wide soundstage, something along the lines of the BMC Pinnacle Gold but not costing 999USD...

Only if you are planning to upgrade your system in the future, get Nordost Valhalla, I found a used 50 cm length with Eichmann Bullet plugs on ebay for $800, it was the best thing I ever bought for that price! Since normal interconnects are around $100-$200 you will save more in the long run from getting the best right away.
Valhalla for Benchmark DAC-1 wasn't an overkill, the incredible speed of this DAC became more apparent, there was also a lot more mid-bass.

Like I said I would like interconnects that dont cost a fortune...

grandenigma is building me a pair of gold ICs for a very reasonable price, that should be as good if not better than the BMC Pinnacle I have. If I like them I'll probably order a second pair and sell off the BMCs...

Thanks for the help guys
