I've brought it down to these two based on what I've read, but seen no comparisons of these two.  It seems the 680 isn't that popular here.  If you could choose between these two at pretty much the same cost, what would you do? With the 680, I'll be purchasing a sub $100 port amp.  With the 750, there is a pa2v2 included.

Listen to acoustic, folk, indie, alt/co, rock, jazz.  Going to be used for music at home and portable; as well as recording/mixing/playback.   Sound sig I'm hoping for: detailed yet smooth; tight, articulate, yet present bass, nothing booming; nice mid/high range.

Thanks for input...or stop me now and change my mind :)

What's the in-btween on these?  overall sound, clarity, soundstage?  thanks for any additional input...

The PL/Prro series have a bigger sound stage and they are more comfy compare to the HFi series. I don't like the 750's to much high and bass like a smile EQ on car sound system. Maybe you can check them out for yourself and hear the differences.
