I wanna buy a pair of close phones because I want to. Haha
I wanna feel the BASS but also clear mid-range and highs.

Mostly listen to Rock, pop, R&B, jazz and Hip-hop very little classical, everything.

I have an amp so power is not a big problem

I want good sound isoluation, ear pad could cover ears and portability (not necessary but if it does, that's great)

I don't care about new or second hand.

Which is better? I want to keep it under < £100

Thanks a lot.

DT250 have good bass quality, but maybe not the quantity you're looking for.

I think the BeyerDynamic DT150 will fulfil all your needs.
Well defined bass, a clear mid-range and highs. Plus a great soundstage, which is quite rare for a closed headphone in this price range.
The earpads covers the ear, but I doubt if you would wear them in public.

I just mean it's much more expensive.

I've never heard the HD25-1. I own an HD25-SP and i like my DT250 better in pretty much all ways.

In the UK, DT250 and DT150 cost almost the same..I don't know which one to get, also the HFI580 looks better and cheaper..

There aren't velour pads for the DT-150, are there?

Any closed-back phone you'll wear for long periods should have velour pads as an option imho.

As you have an amp, an AKG k271 may be an option, too.

I'm in looking for a new set in the same category. The DT150s really seem to fit the bill based on every review I have seen, but WOW those are some UGLY headphones. I really prefer the aesthetics of the DT770 and the velour earpads, but sound is the bottom line, since I am doing quite a bit of mixing in my home studio.

I currently have a set of HD 250 Linear IIs, which seem to have pretty anemic bass as far as my tastes go. I do a lot with an old set of AKG K240s, but I want something different than both of these. I want something with more bottom end than the HD 250 Linear II and a little more "sparkle" than the AKG K240. I am also considering HD595 or HD600 (although not closed), the HD25 1 II and DT250 or DT770. I would really like to hear them, so I think I will head down to the local Guitar Center as they might have a decent selection.

You can put DT100 velour pads on the DT150, but it will alter the sound.
The original earpads are soft PVC, and they can be sticky. But your ears will fit in the pads, were the DT250 pads can be too small if you have big ears.
But still the DT150 earpads are not very comfortable, I have to admit to my dismay.

DT150 seems to have a very good sq, one question, is the plug 6.5mm or 3.5mm?

No one perfer the HFI 580 over these?

Ah, yes, the DT150 plug. Well, there's some confusion about them.
I got my DT150 used from a fellow headfi-er, with only the 3.5 mm plug. He seems to have bought them like that.
But from the specs on the BeyerDynamic site, you should expect a cable with a 6.5 mm plug.
The problem is, the cable is detachable. So I guess it will be a surprise which cable and plug is included in your DT150 purchase.
You can always buy an adapter
