Wait, that does not take you to where I wanted it to. Please check out the News section of the site.

McCormack typically makes some pretty solid products, it will be interesting to see how this one is reviewed.

Have you thought about asking a mod to add the word *Universal* to your subject header? You're talking about the McCormack UDP-1 Universal Disc Player, are you not?

We shouldn't have to navigate through sub-pages without knowing what we're digging for. And you can always edit your first post to include the correct URL (in which case, I'll remove this bit):

http://www.mccormackaudio.com/news.html

This should work as well:

Also: I'd love to know the relative price point for this player. Judging from their other gear, I'd guess it will be between $2,000-3,000. What do you think?

I edited the thread title, which is why "Universal Digital" appears in brackets. Thanks for the good suggestion, Scrypt. I suppose it will attract more attention this way!

Thanks DanG for changing that title, and thank you Scrypt for providing a correct link. My guess would be that it would fall the $2500 also. Perhaps this will be the first real high end (from an audiophile point of view) universal player.

I think list price is going to be 3000.00. If I was going for a universal player this or the Krell would be the ones I would look at first.

This is totally cool from a research point of view. American company making a high resolution "universal" source!! I'm definitely going to keep this one in mind and be on the lookout for reviews!!!

Nebuchadnezzar, are those players, such as the Linn and Krell, officially out on the market yet?

I think I read that Gilmore owns one of the Krell's and is very happy with it.

Bel Canto's PLayer is "comming soon"
The Linn Unidisk hasn't been released yet, as far as I know.
And, the McCormack UDP-1 is set for September, I believe.
Not sure about the Krell RT-10, but the Krell SACD Standard is out now.
