How does one setup a computer using SATA RAID? I ask as I am trying to do so and can't, for the life of me, figure out how to get either the drivers onto a floppy or get Windows XP to recognise my SATA RAID array. It is a simple pair of Maxtor 120GB drives I am running in RAID0 stripping. Every time I boot up and try to install Windows it says I have no hard drive on the computer. I can't make a bootdisc like the manuk states as I type in format a:/s and I just get an error that it is an invalid command in Win2000.

during the first steps of the installation process (console mode), winnt/2k/xp gives you a chance to install any special drivers you need by pressing f4 or f2 or some other f at a correct moment. no clue whether it would help here or not though.

does the bios recognize the drive(s)?

zzz,

The BIOS recognises the drive and shows them both when booting. The only problem was that the drives didn't come with their usual floppy disc companion disc to help setup the stupid drives. I am in the process of swapping the monitor and power cord back and forth as I try to find the right files I need on the Asus disc that came with the motherboard.

GOT IT! I infally found the right makecd.exe file on the driver disc. MAN! I don't think that Asus could make things any more complicated or confusing with where the right drivers are located on their CDs. It took more than an hour of playing before I finally got it right.

Thanks for the help zzz.
