Hello,
Greetings. New to head fi..
I own the hifiman he 400s and I'm attempting to get a mic to work with xbox live. I've tried initially a USB to pc stereo adapter plugged an old Logitech mic in and it was a no go. The adapter cost 9 bucks . Brand name syba . Returned it. in it's place I got a 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapter tried plugging that into controller ... Turns out the second option won't work without the first and the first wont work without the second.
Lol xbox is so dumb with all their proprietary bs.
I know an astro mix amp will work with a headphone amplifier but I don't have a headphone amp just a onkyo 1008. I heard the astro mixamp makes popping/hissing noises when connected via receiver.
It's either I get an astro + headphone amp or I get some ridiculous custom cable made and get some headphone amps.
Or I buy cheap garbage gaming headset with mic figure out if i can send sound from my tv speakers to cheap headset used for mic with game volume set to 0 and my hifiman headphones output via avr at same time?? see if I can connect two at once from different sources . I doubt it will work but I'm really at the point I'm ready to throw my Xbox out the window.
I'm sure Someone else has been they the same growing pains before?
