I need to replace my V moda Crossfade Lp for something with more comfortable

Budget - $200 to $350

Source – Ipod Classic, iPhone 4s , HP Pavilion M6 Laptop  (I hope the
headphone can be powered without amp if possible)

Requirements for Isolation – I would like some noise isolation if
possible I will mostly be using my headphones in my Dorm or college
library

Requirements for Pads: Velvor if possible Due to long term comfort

Preferred Type of Headphone – Full Sized (Closed Over ear Headphones)

Preferred tonal balance –I love the Bass on the V moda's eventhough
that was my first over ear headphone purchase so Im not sure if I'm a
Basshead

Past headphones –  ( V-moda Crossfade LP)

Pros of the V Moda Crossfade LP:

     -Bass

-Short Cord length (important for portability in between classes)

Cons

-Long Term Comfort(Ear burning after long term use)

Preferred Music – Hip-Hop , Rap , Sirius Xm (Chill Channel), RnB

Some types of Songs I listen to

Toro Y Moi - So Many Details     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0_ardwzTrA

Joey Badass – 95 till infinity      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1yGG8jMSTI

Epik High – Over             http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwKiGy2A_nU

Blackmill – Let it Be       http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDI6HTR9arA

Thank You

Hi ipodps3,

First of all, welcome to Head-Fi!

  Sorry about your wallet.

Secondly, thanks for providing (more than) enough information about what you're looking for.  More often than not, people aren't specific, and that makes it difficult to help.  And third, yes, you're a little bit of a basshead... but that's perfectly okay.

I would suggest you try out a Beyerdynamic COP (Custom One Pro).  I think that you'd find it to your liking in terms of bass (which you can tune yourself), and you should find it reasonably comfortable as well.

What about the M-100?

I didn't mention the M-100 because he found his Crossfade LPs uncomfortable.  I'm pretty sure he's going to be skittish about going with a headband design that is similar.

Ah, yes. I just thought the XL pads would be an improvement in comfort over the normal pads.

The MDR 1R sounds pretty good as well.

Ohh, yes, good point.  Do you happen to know if the XL pads will fit his LP?  Since he likes the way it sounds, he might not even need new headphones.

Maybe, but I don't own any V-Moda headphones. The LP and M-100 are both over ear so perhaps the pds are the same size? The OP better ask Val or someone who has both.
