I'm very new to all of this but have been doing a lot of reading on new headphones but can't decide what to buy. I don't have a DAC or amp. I will mostly use these headphones for gaming (often times competitive shooters like csgo) while on the call with friends and some light music listening or youtube watching. What I have decided on are the combo's: Beyerdynamic dt990 600 ohms with fx audio DAC x6, Beyerdynamic dt990 600 ohms with just an amp (recommend me one which is affordable) or the Sennheiser hd6xx with fx audio DAC x6.
I've seen people say the fx audio DAC x6 cant really power headphones like the dt990 600 ohm, but also some that say that it can, but none that I've seen, seem to say anything about the gain jumper "mod" which I hope might make a difference. If it won't power it, I feel like I might have to get the dt990 without a DAC and just an amp but don't know which one as the Magni 3 is oftentimes out of stock in the EU.
What would you recommend I buy? my budget is around what a hd6xx with fx audio DAC x6 would cost

Suggest you not buy 600-Ohm headphones, just not practical.
Check out the 32-Ohm Soundmagic HP200 headphones, they are like an improved DT990.

Those seem to not be available anymore in my country and otherwise just as expensive, if not more expensive as the hd6xx. Which one should I get then?

Fidelio X2 used to be cheaper, but that was before the pandemic, so these there the best available for your budget in the NL. If you want to save more money and not too picky on sound details, then get the classic AKG K240 and Soundblaster HD here:

I agree that the 600ohm version is basically an arbitrary, possibly esoteric thing. You should concentrate on getting a sound signature that you like, but also given the gear you are using, your focus should be on the getting an easy to drive headphone. What specifically do you believe a 600ohm headphone variant provides that something like a 32 or 64ohm model wouldn't?

From the reviews i read, the bass and treble on the dt990 can be quite overwhelming to the point where its unenjoyable. Personally i do like some V shape sound signature but if it makes it unenjoyable, then thats just not worth it in my opinion. But from reviews ive read, the 600 ohm version handles these complaints the best, so thats why I thought i might have liked that version better

True, the 600-Ohm DT990 sounds better than the 250-Ohm DT990, the 600-Ohm version has better bass control (I own both).
The Soundmagic HP200 is a better buy.
