Hello,

Is there a way that I can keep FLAC and MP3 files seperate in Media Monkey. There reason I would like to do this is so that I can listen to the FLAC files on my Windows Machine and listen to MP3's on my Sony Walkman.

Thanks

Don't make mp3s; only keep flacs in the library. When you plug your Sony in, it can automatically convert to mp3 for you. This saves you hassle and space.

Here's how:
Tools > Options > Portable/Audio Devices
Select your device (Sony will show up) and click Configure
Auto Conversion tab > "Add auto conversion rule"
Fill in the blanks: “format on PC”, “bit rate”, “format on device” >settings

In my case it's "flac", "any" "ogg", settings=q7
You would probably use "flac", "any", "mp3", settings=(pick a bitrate)
.

I do not have the paid version, I am using the free version.

Sorry, didn't realize that was a paid feature.

You can always go to "My Computer" and make a folder called flac and one called mp3 and store your files accordingly.

Then again, it's only the cost of a cd for the full version, and you get better ripping and awesome playlist functions among other things.

I figured it out and it is quite easy. If I want to play FLAC files I simply type in the search box *flac and for mp3's *mp3 This is a simple solution and allows you to keep both mp3's as well as flac files in the same folder.

That I do not know, I have not played around with the playlist features(s). I think that is something else I need to play with and find out.
