I recently purchased a pair of Shure E3C earphones and I am having trouble getting much bass from them. It is VERY weak. I have read many of the posts here discussing how to insert them and get a good seal and I have tried everything. I have not tried the tri-flang yet, but I don't have much faith that it will help. The mids and highs are great and the clarity of sound overall is outstanding except that it sounds thin because of lack of bass. Does anybody have any suggestions.

Thanks for your help. Brad.

Coming from a headphone, the E2c sounds 'ok' in bass, while the E3c (and the ER-6i / ER-4P to a greater degree) will sound a little deficient. You can a) get used to it or b) EQ it.

If b) is not an option and you don't want a), then consider moving down to the E2c for a loss in sound quality but an increase in bass, or move down further for a considerable cut in sound quality but with significantly increased bass with the Sony MDR-EX71, or go for the Shure E5c.

If you can EQ, then try reducing the mids as well as or instead of increasing the lows. You'll notice that this is far more effective than just cranking up the bass... it's the same trick that the EX71 uses to sound extra-bassy.
