Well, I would study in Liverpool next year (now i'm in China), however I can't find anywhere to buy a earphone there, either online or in shops...

What i could find is just Amazon, Dixons, and Laskys....

How and where does audiophiles usually shop in UK?
Is there anyone who can help me?

Headphones & Earphones | HiFi Headphones Store - iPod earphones, wireless headphones, in ear headphones, Sennheiser headphones plus Grado, Audio Technica & Skullcandy - HiFi Headphones
Advanced MP3 Players - the MP3 player experts
JAYS 'in ear sound,' noise isolating Earphones and Headphones
STONEAUDIO UK | hi-fi, home cinema, multi-room, design and installation

There's a few to start with.

Avoid buying from iHeadphones as they import a lot of grey imports and you won't be covered by 2 year warranties etc (read they're T&C if you don't believe me). I was going to buy some Jay's from them and asked Jays UK if they'd price match, in short Jays informed me that I wouldn't be covered under warranty (from Jay's) as iHeadphones weren't official stockists.

Do you think iHeadphones sells fake headphones too, or is there just the import and warranty issue?

I guess it is just the import and warranty issue...

Sorry for not responding sooner, yes it's an import /warranty issue, they are buying from oversea's & certainly aren't a Jay's authorised stockist. I'm not saying all of there range is like that, but you need to read the there Terms & Conditions of Sale and be aware.

For example Jay's direct offer a two year warranty, whilst if you read iHeadphones T&C's you'll discover that they only offer, & I quote "free from defects for 6 months from the date of dispatch".

Jay's direct informed me that firstly that iHeadphones weren't an authorised stockist and secondly, because I hadn't purchased from an authorised Stockist it's wasn't their responsibility to replace a faulty product, as my contract of sale was with iHeadphones not them.

When you make a purchase from iHeadphones, you're 'Contact of Purchase' under UK law, is with iHeadphones; not the manufacturer. Now remember iHeadphone only offer a six month warranty against faulty goods.

In other words, after six months you are either totally stuffed, or at the goodwill of either iHeadphones or the manufacturer should a fault develop.

Thanks for the reply, I was just worrying about my last purchase from iHeadphones.
I would have posted here the iHeadphones site, but I did not know about the warranty issue.

We have Apple and Sony stores in the city centre but no real headphone palace to speak of. Even if there were such a place... in general, UK retail prices are on the high side. It's rare you're better off purchasing here unless you go online with places like play.com, amazon and the like.

What I do is go to google.co.uk and set it to show UK results only. search for the product and go to the shopping part of google.

It finds me the best deals and then I choose a store with a good price and at the same time one that is credible.

Beware of Play & Amazon in the UK, although if you buy direct from Amazon & Play you'll be okay. However should you go through one of the other resellers i.e. 'marketplace sellers' on both; you could end up with fake products.

If you read some of the feedback on Amazon regarding Apple ADDIEM's there some reports, such as one guy going by the name of 'iPodjunkie' selling fake products.

As Szadzik said 'choose a store with a good price and at the same time one that is credible'.

In short, if a deal sounds too good to be true, then it probably is !
