Well, I have the CT470 and am happy with it, but I need to buy another player for my girlfriend. But they have disappeared completely here in Lisbon, and I don feel like hunting and mail ordering one.

I'm sure other recent players in the market can match it...

I asked this before, but am still looking. So what would you suggest? What recent players are a good choice?

What I want:
-Excellent sound. (no amplification whitenoise, silence as black as possible, etc).
-Some digital output would be nice (but not essential). I have a set of Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 Digital speakers which I wouldn't mind using with the CDP.

I don't care about antishock (anything will do), or other extras like AC Adapters, etc.

Basically, GOOD SOUND+DIGITAL OUTPUT if possible.

What to get?

Thx.

i hate to sound like a broken record (cd?) but if you can find a sony d777 pcdp at auction snap it up. no digital outs but you wont care once you hear & see it.
