Hi guys, I am looking for some guidance as I do not get the chance to audition my HP purchases. So I tend to come on here and try and soak in a lot of knowledge and then make my mind up. Not ideal I know but it has worked in the past …..well most of the time.
A couple of years ago I went from the 1more triple driver to the CA Lyra 2 and to be honest the difference was overwhelming. I could not believe how good they sounded , and I thought that was me sorted. However at xmas time I tend to treat myself to something and I am now considering some new in ears.
I have followed a few threads lately including the RHA CL2 but I have decided to stick with Campfire Audio .
At first I was considering the Vega or the Andromeda, but now I may also look at the Atlas or even the new Solaris.
They are to be used with the DX200. I love my Lyra 2 so much so that although I have some cash to spend I admit I am also maybe tempted to stick with it…….but you know what this hobby is like
I am not that good at describing what I like but I will try. Bass has to be right. I like a nice tight bass, not a bass that overwhelms everything else.
I like a nice clear treble but I think I have a touch of tinnitus so I am sensitive to a bit of sibilance.
It may help if I tell you I have the HEK full size headphones and I love that sound. They have all the detail but also get the treble spot on for me. When I purchased them I also got the HD800 to try but found them too bright in the treble area, which was a shame as I loved their look and fit.
I have the SF Olympica 2 speakers in my home set up, and I plumped fro these as they just get the treble so right. So sweet!
So I have narrowed it down to 4 . I know Andro and Vega will be a cheaper option as there will probably be a lot on the used market due to the Solaris release, but I would stretch to the Solaris if I felt that was the right way to go.
My concerns and maybe unfounded. Vegas – too bassy? Does it drown out the detail.
Andros – the fit? A lot of people just cant get a good fit.
Atlas – not that pretty![Headphone Smile :) :)](https://cdn.head-fi.org/e/headfi/smily_headphones1.gif)
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
