Hi everyone,
I've been lurking about for around a year. My first set of "proper headphones" were a pair of HD558's (which I still love in so many ways). After experiencing what the world of headphones had to offer, I was hooked. I have since been through Senny Momentums, Philips X2 Fidelios, HD598s, and most recently my Fostex T50RPs. I had HD 600s on the way. Very much a fan of open backed cans. Before I get into my particuar issue, i just wanted t thank the community for its encouragement and wealth of knowledge. It's a very positive place. We all are on the same team, we all are in love with sound/headphones/speakers what have you. It pretty great.

So I purchased a set of Brainwavz Velour pads along with my TR50s. I am REALLY struggling to put the Brainwavz pands onto the Fostex's! Removing the stock pads was incredibly easy. I've been searching everywhere and have found no comprehensive guide to replacing TR50 MkIII earpads. I would really love some help.I can see that the lip of the stock pads is significantly shorter than the brainwavz. For a moment I thought that trimming them would help..I've attached a picture. Any help or reference to a good guide would be crazily appreciated.

Thanks again and I'm happy to finally be posting!

Best Regards,
Rashomon

Well it looks like i dont have permission to post pictures. but regardless, id love input!
Thanks!!

Hello to you too.

I have Fostex T50rp and brainwavz pleather pads. The size of the pads are smaller so they won't fit. So I stick it on the the cups with removable adhesive.
Though I wasn't content with the brainwavz pleather quality. It's shredding. So I decided to make some of my own.

Here's a thread were you might find more help.

Brainwavz pads will definitely fit the MK3s. You don't need to trim them, you just need to stretch them some beforehand. Once you get a little bit of material over the lip that holds the pads, I'd hold that in place on the outside with one hand, then use your fingers on the inside of the earpads to slowly work your way around the entire thing. It'll stretch more and slide into place. Just takes some patience

Yes, this is what I've been working on. I dont think i can do it with just two hands though, haha. I feel like i need one to hold back the other driver that flops around. I"ll have my girlfriend give me a hand after work  How should I go about stretching them out? Or is that just something that happens during installation?

Thank you very much for your help!

You can just use your fingers to stretch the ring of material outward a little, to help them go on easier. I definitely get what you're saying, it seems like they're too small and just won't fit at first. It takes some work, but they will go on

Maybe a little easier than the Brainwavz? It's hard for me to say for sure, because I had the technique down by that point from putting on the Brainwavz pads

Yeah, man! I actually just replaced the original pads and it wasn't a crazy task like the first time i removed them!  I feel like I'll I be able to get the Brainwavz on sooner or later. Thanks sir. I'll keep working on it and whine on here if I'm unable to after a few days, haha.

Thanks Again!
