You call yourselves an audiophile site, but what does that really mean? Does it mean,

"We love researching and comparing products geared towards sound, you know technical specifications and the like."

Or does it mean,

"We love music, and therefore understand that there is a huge difference between a simple pair of iPod earbuds versus a pair of high end headphones."

For me it is the second one, and being on this website is just another stepping stone in my never ending quest for creating music. From a tiny bit of research I have concluded that if you are in the market for great headphones, you are honestly looking at thousands of choices, and this is all so overwhelming to me.

If you asked me what type of music I am producing, I would say hip hop. But to tell the truth, hip hop nowadays is all produced on computers, so it can easily be classified in to electronic music. I also love all types of 'club' music from dubstep to house. And I need a pair of headphones that are going to serve me well.

I am a music freak, and if you gave me a few days by myself I would probably spend 24 hours at least just sitting their, listening to different kinds of hip hop and electro music. I don't know why, but I just love it.

I have a budget of $200, well $400 if I don't get any clothes for Christmas... I learned I would have to sacrifice everything to chase my dreams, and not having nice clothes is one I am willing to take at this point, with bills and all I don't have much money left for myself at the end.

Help a kid out!

Sennheiser IE80 (~$270 from Amazon.de, price fluctuates on Amazon.com, but currently ~$290-$300)

Make sure it is "Shipped and sold by Amazon" (and not Fulfilled by Amazon or any third-party vendor) for a legit pair.

Hey thanks for responding but I think I'd rather have headphone rather than earphones at this point. I don't know why but I always see DJ's with headphones and every producer I've seen has always had headphones on. Although these look really interesting I've never even heard of earbuds being able to turn up the bass and highs and such, so freaking cool lol.

Any good Sennheiser headphones though?

I dont think you should rule out earphones completely ;P im pretty young too and i really appreciate how quickly the in ear market is expanding the past few years.

The most well tespected sennheiser under 400 right now is the moment but you might want a bit more bass than that. You could look at vmoda m100 which are highly regarded dj style headphones... Although not my own personal flavor.

I my range of genres is quite wide. Going anywhere from top 100 hits to r&b to to classic rock, acoustic, jazz or indie.

Definitely learned to keep an open mind on headfi. Just cuz lil wayne wears beats pros doesnt mean you have to ;)

That's what I'm saying lol all my friends at school wear Beats headphones and think they're sooooo cool. They're just a fashion statement, I've heard them myself and they're nothing special at all. Definitely gonna look in to the moments headphones actually looking at them now and they look really legit, also the V-MODA's have a really nice design to them too. Adding all these to my potential list!

There are plenty of people that would be willing to help! Dont ever feel bad about asking someone!

Also look around the for sale forums. There are often lightly used gear. And knowing how much people baby their audio gear on this forum, most of it will come in pretty good comditions
