okay, i currently use the sony ex71's but i want to get something new
the main reason is i hate the L-cord config, where one of the cords is longer than the other.
this rules out many choices i guess

i have had the er-4i's, but just simply didn't think that $120 was worth the quality (even though it was the best that have ever graced my ears)

i was thinking something below $40 and meet the following:
lightweight
preferably headphone style
decent sounding
decent looking
come from some reputable company (i'm a huge "label-whore". i hate koss and jvc for some reason. would like to stick to the big names (even though i guess koss and jvc are big names.))

i was looking at the pmx-60 from senn, but the reviews here seem mixed. everwhere it looks to be on the positive, and here a few give positives, but many give negs.

thanks!

do u put the right earbud around the back of your head w/ the ex71? if not u should try it once u get used to it, it just becomes normal and comfortable (IMO)

Id recommend shure e2c they might cost u ten to twenty more than your looking to spend but their worth it.

yeh, i do that
the thing is, its too long for me, so it ends up sagging too much

If your criteria is <$40, ironically one of the most (if not the most) reputable brand of cans in this range will be Koss. Sure some of their cheap headphones are lousy, but they also have a few gems that don't cost a lot either. You will find mountains of good impressions and comparisons in favor of KSC clipons and PortaPros on head-fi.

If you still won't bear the name Koss on your head, I'll suggest the Sennheiser PX100. Extremely lightweight and oftentimes unnoticeable imho.

after reading that, i've been looking into the e2c... the best prices i see for those are 75 shipped... hmm. hows the fit compared to ex71's?
and do you have to put it over the ear?
can someone take a picture with a e2c in their ear?

thanks a lot =D
