i have a $100 budget (100 is max, i'd like to spend less though)

i need:
1.) good bass and mids (clear sound)
2.) not too much leakage
3.) comfortable

suggestions?

Audio-Technica ATH-A500, $110 from Audiocubes. It's a very clear headphone with very good bass and treble. It's not a bass monster, but gives crisp, well-controlled bass, at least in comparison to lower-end gear. The mids are very slightly recessed, but not badly at all. The headphone is very comfortable, and is closed, isolating you from the outside world and not leaking any sound at all. In the ~$100 category, this would be my first choice.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post but I am not new to headphones... so I am going to put in my 2 cents worth...

I absolutely second the recommendation for Sennheiser HD280. However, you did not say if you were interested in canal phones (IEM's)...if so, then Shure E2.

When you say good bass, do you want thumping bass or more precise and accurate bass?
