Hello everyone,
I was hoping to get a bit of insight on where to go with my home audio system. Right now, it's a bit of an unorganized mess and I would really like a cohesive solution.
I will start with the existing setup:
Sources: PlayStation 3, Desktop PC, Nintendo Wii and Google Chromecast
USB DAC: SuperPro DAC 707
Pre-amplifier: T-Preamp TCC TC754
Amplifier: Trends Audio TA-10.2
Speakers: Paradigm Mini Monitors
The connections are:
PS3 (HDMI) + Chromecast (HDMI) + PC (HDMI) + Wii (Component) --> TV (S/PDIF out) --> SuperPro DAC707 --> TCC TC754 ---> TA-10.2 --> Mini Monitors
This setup works well enough but there are some problems:
1. The TV must be on to do any audio playback, which is problematic because it's a Panasonic plasma TV and leaving it on with a static image is not a good idea. At all.
2. I would like something AirPlay enabled so that guests or the Mrs. can easily output to the speakers. This is not 100% required though because there are work arounds like remotely controlling the PC with the laptop or a smartphone (Plex Remote).
3. It's a small issue for me, but the Mrs. gets easily annoyed with having to manually adjust the volume on the TA-10.2 instead of using a remote. Right now I work around it by increasing the volume on the Pre-amp and Amplifier, and then reducing it on the PS3, but the PS3 does not have a lot of granularity.
I am really unsure how to approach this issue. Ideally, I would love to keep the TA10.1 because the sound quality is fantastic, but I am open to suggestions. My budget would probably be around $500 for now, and I'm willing to upgrade one piece at a time.
Thanks a ton everyone!
