i made it to my first meet on saturday, in the building across from my dorm, so i managed to not get lost....i heard some amazing amps (grace 901, prehead, MPX3), and some equally amazing headphones (PS-1, R10,CD3000, 650)...i guess i've got the itch now, not necessarily to upgrade, just to sidestep from my MS-2s, which i'm still absolutely in love with (i wish i was in my dorm more often, because when i'm out and about it's the PX100s, and even though they are excellent, coming home to the alessandro's is such a welcoming thought
)
I'd like to try a closed headphone, just to be able to switch between something comfortable-and-great-sounding to something not-very-comfortable-but-great-sounding (and also ruling out any Grados or Senns).
I'm really interested in having a family member purchase either the A900s or the CD3000s, as these are the two i've had my eye on the longest...I really enjoyed the CD3000s at the meet, though that may partly be due to the prehead they were running off of, but have never heard any Audio-Technica products....I also know that the ATs are half the price of the Sonys...so what do you guys think? I'm a classical piano major, so i naturally listen to Led Zeppelin, the Clash, and the Dead. Sarcasm aside, i do listen to a ton of classic rock and punk, and a good amount of classical as well...any help is appreciated! oh i will be running these from a powerbook>headroom home setup (i scour the FS ads daily for an SR-71..Edwood praised the bejesus out of this giantkiller, so that's also on the list!)
