Hello to all golden ears. I am a classical recording engineer looking for a more accurate phone than the one I'm currently using (Sony 7506). There seems to be 2 camps here. Grado RS1 or Senns HD600.
I did go to a rather upscale (snooty) shop in NYC to listen to the RS1, but they had it hooked up to an x-cans amp. It gave it a very grainy sound and strange color. And they wouldn't take the RA1 out of the case. Was this the amp or the RS1? ANy suggestions are welcome.
We had a laugh when we shortly concluded that they had the channels reversed.
Thanks!

Symphony Guy,
Give this a read concerning Stereophile's Wes Philips doing a live recording using the Sennheiser HD600s and I think you'll have your answer.

Thanks for the input. GREAT article Chadbang! I plan on getting the Grace 901.
Bangraman, Eddie Cilletti - the master recording engineer used them on-location for a jazz session for the Grace 901 review. I emailed him and asked him the same question!
I'm glad I found this forum.
