Hi guys, long time lurker here.

I have a set of Grado SR80i's which I've been meaning to mod for many years but haven't got around to it due to other priorities.

I have all the tools I need to carry out the work I want to do.

Mahogany Cups from Vibro Labs
Mogami 2893
Y pants
Furutech 703
Heatshrink + clips + heatshrink, soldering iron and all tools etc
Almost every colour of braided sleeving available :p

My question is, I am going to sleeve the single insulated cable up the the y pants, after the split, what is the best way to insulate the cables without having twists and crinks in them? I was thinking of heat wrapping them then sleeving them. but not sure if this is the best idea, as I want the cables to be as flexible as possible before sleeving and for use.

Any suggestions as an alternative to heatshrink, I just want a bit of protection for the wires before I sleeve them, I've been told that silicone sleeving will be better for flexibility, has anyone got experience of this? I would imagine it'd be a nightmare to get my braided sleeving over silicone!!

Thanks a lot
Jason
