Hey.I just joined these forums and don't know much about audio/headphones.I have only used earphones till now and decided to change things up a bit.I listen to mainly rock(anything from Led Zeppelin to the Beatles and Oasis and this one band called Asian Kungfu Generation),some rap like Gorillaz/Eminem and also bands like Coldplay or Radiohead.I find it important to not have leaking headphones and appreciate decent audio quality, though again I don't know much about it.I was thinking of buying the ATH-WS55's and was wondering if anyone can tell me whether they leak sound or not and if it's a good starting headphone.Feel free to recommend any other ones.Im willing to go above the price of these headphones but would prefer not too since I don't wanna dish out loads of cash on a first headphone.Thanks.

ATH-WS55 is a closed-back headphone, which means they leak much less than an open or semi-open headphone. I haven't heard them, so I can't comment further than that.

Like billybob says, I cant tell you much of this headphone. This headphone dont leak sound to the exterior, a friend has one and no leak. If i have to recommend a headphone sub $100 i say Sennheiser Hd439, No leak, adequate bass, excelent mids, somewhat recessed highs, super Comfortable, Removable cable (the box has to cables, one with 1.5 meters and the other with 3 meters)
