I dont get it!
I want to get an amp for my HD555 for movies and games on my PC!
I just dont understand how i should hook it up, since the sound is coming from my soundcard to my headphone how do i by pass that in games and youse the amp instead?

Amp does not bypass anything really. You take the soundcard and instead of plugging the headphones into it, you just plug the amp into it, and the phones into the amp. I do not recommend getting an amp for hd555 unless you are having volume issues (not much benefit to speak of), maybe a nicer headphone first if you are feeling for one =].

The benefits of an amp are kinda hard to explain exactly unless you know electronics, but in general it evens out the sound.

All you need to do to use a external amp is to bypass the internal soundcard amp. In other words, you need a line out ...

Well i just ordered my HD555 last night!

Congrats on the headphone purchase. I would personally hold off on an amp for these though, you don't really need one. Save the money to upgrade the source (if necessary) or buy music, or of course, just treat yourself to something nice instead.

If you want that you Amp bypass you soundcard you need a Amp with DAC, which is good if you soundcard is not good quality
