A good source for your computer. E-MU 0404 USB or 1616 work really nicely with HD595.

MaloS has it nailed if you are on a budget. Start with the emu0404usb and see where that leads you.

P.S. Welcome to Head-Fi and sorry for your wallet.

Here good choices. Amp and DAC in the same packet.

CORDA MOVE
CORDA ARIA
CORDA CANTATE
CORDA OPERA headphone amplifier / DAC

Find them here:

Myself got Corda HA-2 MkII SE + Stello DA100. But my civilized guess is that Opera is as good or even better than my combination.

I do not recommend Meier tonality with HD595.

It's just that for me HD595 works pretty much with everything. So was giving amp advice with nice internal DAC.

Well, Emu 4040 USB looks very nice, found for 186 euros http://www.intermusic-pro.com/tienda/e-mu_0404usb/ , little expensive tought but if you say it is really good quality/price ill try with it

. People told me usb sound cards are better, because inside the pc there is noise. Or is false and i have to go with the other Emu non-usb?.

Also Corda arieta and aria looks amacing, im in a trouble now. This is better than the Emu soundcard?? Corda Aria, in the webpage says 285 euros, or 390$. I live in spain and always have to buy conversion 1 euro=1 dollar. No way to spend more than 300 euros. Ill search more about, thx really for your coments.

It does work. But Meier tonality is such that the upgrade becomes almost pointless. I got much much more impressive results using E-MU 1616 (which is a better source than an Aria because it has very detailed, slightly warm tonality + capable of being balanced, in generally its of a higher end than Aria), and the headphone amp integrated into the E-MU helps out with the HD595 bass, generally serving very well until the owner decides to splurge on an amp that really brings HD595 out (like Darkvoice 332 or one of the Singlepowers if we go into high end).

Cheers. In case it is important - I used HD595 as my main headphone for 2 years and really experimented with it plenty.

Oh, and OP, external ones are better absolutely. 0404 USB is very good, 1616 uses a different interface but the actual card is also external (it uses a PCI card inside the computer for faster data transfer).

True.

Maybe i went a bit overboard. I'm sure your advice is good.
For myself can not wait for the weekend to end and get my K340 on monday.
Waiting the weekend to end is rare indeed

If you can afford it, I would go with the DAC/AMP combo. It gives you the most flexibility and you get an amp which you WILL need with your K340

i have the emu 0404 usb. it rocks =]

and the DAC chip inside is new and very good. leaning a bit on the warm side i would say, and the 0404 usb unit also has an output to atttach to another amp if you ever needed it! the DAC is certainly up to snuff (IMO)

Have a look at the Fubar III from Firestone Audio. Its a USB DAC + Amp in one unit, and it's very cheap for what you're getting.

The Fubar III is a Fubar II USB DAC and a Cute Beyond amplifier mysteriously spliced into one unit, so it should sound similar to those
